Winter Giant Bluefin Tuna Fishing
Mid - March thru early April
Yellowfin Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo

This fish took two hours and four gaffs plus one trip to the chiropractor for the angler to get it in. The strength of these Giants is awesome.
We fish for Giant Bluefin out of Morehead City,
North Carolina in December and January. Most of the time these giants
are only a half mile to three miles off the beach. With the
protection of Cape Lookout and being so close to the beach we hardly ever get
blown out. It is a only an eight hour drive from Philadelphia and often
the temperatures are in the 60's in January with the Warm Gulf Stream
water so close to the North Carolina Coast.
In
mid-March we start fishing the edge of the
Gulf Stream for Yellowfin Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo. The Gulf Stream is only about
an hours run from our marina in Morehead City, NC and the water and air
temperatures will be in the high 70's by early April.
We can make arrangements for reasonable lodging and
visiting the famous Harkers Island boat yards where Carolina style
sportfisher boats are hand built.

This is an e-mail from one of our customers about his
fishing trip in
Morehead City, North Carolina for giant Bluefin tuna in January 2002:
John, I was in Charlie Pilgrim's party last weekend, and I just wanted
to say we had a great time!
Don and Chris were great people to fish with. I've been on charters with
nasty mates and screaming captains,
but those 2 are just like fishing with friends. They made us feel right at
home.
