Due to the lack of spring stripers in the lower Delaware Bay in recent years we are no longer booking spring striper trips.  If this would happen to change, we could discuss the opportunity to run a spring striper trip. We feel Black Drum is a much surer bet these days and plan to start running trips on May 10th.  The last two weeks of May have always produced excellent drum fishing in the past and should again this spring. Black Drum can get up over 90 lbs. and are by far the hardest fighting and largest fish you can catch inshore in our local waters off South Jersey.  We end our season for Black Drum after the new moon on May 29th and we turn to offshore only.

This spring we plan on running early season tuna trips, this could be as early as Mid-May if the conditions are right.  The last few years there was some of the best tuna fishing of the entire year in late May and June and we suggest that any anglers that love to target tuna take advantage of this early season bite.

We will also be running shark trips targeting Mako Sharks starting in late May.  In 2011 the Hooked Up II led all charter boats in the South Jersey Shark Tournament in the number of sharks caught and released.

For those that want some excellent family fun catching sharks up to 300 lbs. within a half hour of our dock contact us about our family shark trips. We also fish for small snapper bluefish on these trips and they are all about having nice day on the water with family and friends are the most affordable fishing trips we offer. We start these in late June and run them through Labor Day.

Keep an eye out at The Bass Barn under the Open Boat section of the forums where we post information for Open Boat Charters from time to time.
