It’s that time of year again, people are starting to get busy for the holidays and the Stripers are finally coming into the Cape May/South Jersey area!
On that note, we have good news and bad news…
Earlier this fall, it was a slow season for us as we’ve only had a couple of 30lb. class stirpers, a few 29 inch fish and a bunch of throwbacks. Considering how good the fishing was last year, we were a bit disappointed. That’s the bad news.
The good news: The striper fishing in the last few days has turned red hot and we are ready to take it to them. The stripers are being caught on live bait, jigs, surface poppers and various deep running tolling lures all within 3 miles of the beach!
On a recent trip I dug up some old secret weapons from my striper arsenal goin gback 25-30 years when the striper first make their comeback in local waters. The old-fashioned tube lures I dug out seemed to be the ticket for the stripers on this trip!
At the end of the day we had a total of 16 stripers, a few gator size blues and a 23 inch flounder that we painfully threw back.
With the number of large stripers that have been caught in the last few days it seems the fall run is finally happening in South Jersey and hopefully we will have great striper fishing through out December like we did last season. Last year we ran our last chunking trip on December 27 and limited out in 6 hours!
With the great fishing finally here, now is the time to book a trip if you have been waiting for the bite to start. We only have Dec 2 open between now and Dec 9. After Dec 9, we have plenty of great dates available for those interested in booking a trip with us!

P.S. – Sorry if you received this twice…we had a glitch in the system!
