It was a very tough day tuna fishing today and believe me we were lucky to put 5 in the boat and release another undersized 6-7 ones. The same locations we fished on our last few trips up to the Spencer that produced double digit keeper Yellowfins up to 60 plus lbs just did not hold much bait or tuna for us and many of the boat we talked to. We caught our tuna between the Spencer and Wilmington in 500 feet of water after pounding the Spencer all morning with not one bite. At the end of the day I felt very fortunate to catch what we did will be back out at it again in about 6 hours so off to bed in a few minutes.
Caveman Sportfishing Charters is proud to announce we will be part of charter boat operations on Captain Tim Smith’s boat, The Bodacious, for the upcoming 2021 season. Like last season, Captains John & Diana Sowerby, along with Captain Ray Pastella, will be part of the team. The Bodacious is a custom 55-foot Carolina sport fisher that offers an upscale interior and an extraordinary smooth ride (thanks to its world-renowned Carolina hull). The deep vee Carolina hull with the distinctive Carolina flare (or Harkers Island Flare as it is often referred to) throws water away from hull, especially in rough conditions like those seen off the Outer Banks.
We promise you will love fishing on The Bodacious, with all the comforts a Carolina custom hand-crafted boat provides. We will be docked at the same great location in Wildwood, NJ where we were last season with multiple restaurants within walking distance of the marina. Without question The Bodacious is one of the finest deluxe charter boats in South Jersey. Between the two of them, Captains Tim and John have over 70 years of fishing experience in the offshore waters of the mid-Atlantic region and consistently strive to make your fishing trips not just successful, but memorable as well.
